MA, Xiao (马筱) pron. "MA-shell"

SJD Candidate · Harvard Law School

I am an SJD candidate at Harvard Law School working at the intersection of bankruptcy, corporate law, and the political economy of China. My dissertation examines how state authority and market discipline interact in allocating losses across China's economy.

Before academia, I practiced as a restructuring and litigation lawyer at Kirkland & Ellis (Hong Kong) and Fangda Partners (Shanghai). I hold degrees from Harvard Law School, the University of Oxford, and Beijing Foreign Studies University, and am admitted to practice in New York and China.
